Battlefield: Bad Company Review.

Photobucket

From start to finish Battlefield: Bad Company is an action packed FPS that requires you to not only have some skill, but to pay attention. Enemy AI is pretty smart and will require you to think strategically and think things through. At the time bad company was pretty innovative because it was one of the few games in its area to have destructible environments in this fashion. Parts of buildings are destructible so when you’re trying to hide from and enemy RPG in a house, he’s going to blow up the building you’re in and force you to hop between buildings until you’ve got a shot on him. Like other battlefield games you are able to drive vehicles which are unique in some war games and special missions.

The missions in Bad Company are never the same. The missions range from capturing enemy posts, guiding tanks, swarming a fortress, and destroying machines with C4.

However Bad Company does have its downfalls. On hard mode there are parts that are entirely too easy, or parts that are way too hard for the simple fact that you are ridiculously out numbered. This is overcome by using deaths to your advantage. When you die any enemy that you’ve killed will still be dead. If you were in a vehicle then you’ll respawn in it and it will be at 100%; which is a way to get through a lot of tanks. But there are also part where you are given nothing and expected to fight a tank, At this point I resorted to running around finding vehicles to ram the tank with. I would also run around picking up enemy weapons so I could get grenades to throw at the tank. The AI of your squad B Company isn’t the best, In this same situation Haggard had a rocket launcher. But instead of destroying the tank he was standing out in the open and watching me fight the tank while pointing his rocket launcher at it. Adding to this there were multiple times where when we were fighting soldiers on foot and he would do the same; just stand there staring at them while eating bullets. If hard mode means no one does anything but you then this game nailed it on the head.

Despite the games few flaws it is a memorable gem. It has fun and engaging gameplay along with a rememberable and funny story line. As you Progress with the Sergeant, Sweet Water, and Haggard you become attached to them as they crack jokes, talk about women, and what they’re going to do when they finish their service. I would recommend picking this game up or renting it if anything.

Enjoy some gameplay!

Super Mario Stikers

Photobucket

When I was younger and all these Mario games were coming out I thought it would be really cool if Nintendo made a Mario soccer game. Finally for the GameCube they did. Although some Mario sports games are a bit cheesy and slow paced, you would be wrong if you came to Mario Strikers with that in mind. You would also probably be caught by surprised. Mario Strikers is an action packed fast paced game which allows for hours of replay as you try to get further and further in the tournaments. Like other Mario sports games you get basic starter characters and you’re able to unlock more characters to play as your team captain.
Mario strikers isn’t like other Mario games in one way, instead of having a team of Mario stars you pick a star and a team of Koopas or Hammer Bros. But this game does have its setbacks. You’re able to tackle an enemy and take away the ball and get a reasonable distance down the field while they are being electrocuted on the fence. But hey it wouldn’t be a Mario sports game without Nintendo shenanigans.

I would give this game and average 7 out of ten.

WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!

Photobucket

Wario Ware inc. is a party game for the Nintendo GameCube. It’s a series of mini games which require you to not only be fast, but be precise in what you’re doing and be able to follow directions. This fast pace game can be fun with friends trying to see who can get further in the game or just on your own for plain old fun. The whole idea of the game is you must complete the levels within the time limit, the further into the game you get the harder the mini games get and faster paced they become. The game tries to sike you out by increasing the speed of the music between mini games making you feel uneasy. This makes you react faster than you can without thinking and mess up. Which just makes you come back to play more and more. Though the game gets boring after some play, it’s still a worthy pick up for gaming with friends.

I would give this game a Mediocre 4 out of 10 due to poor replay value.

Stardust

Stardust is a flash game/ simulation of stars catapulting dust between one another. In this flash game you can move stars around creating elaborate patterns throughout the cosmos. If you get everything perfect you can have the dust orbiting some of the stars. I’ve only been able to have stardust orbiting 3 stars at once. But in the larger version it’s easier for the most part considering there are more stars and more dust paths to cause orbiting. After a while the color of the stardust changes, and varies at all times, although it usually matches at the head and tail of the stream. There is no real goal in the game, overall you are supposed to look at all the pretty colors and do anything you could really think of. Such as me, as I already said I like getting start dust orbiting the stars, but I also like making the stars bump wildly around the play area. I also think its cool to keep the stardust from reaching a star by keeping the star away from it, all the stardust builds up and follows in a sparkling shower. This flash game can keep you occupied for some time as long as your imagination or attention span allows it.

Transformice

Photobucket

Transformice is a flash game that is becoming quickly popular. You play as your own mouse where your objective is to simply collect cheese and return to your mouse house. That seems simple enough? Well there are obstacles and you have to depend on other players to help build useful contraptions to cross, or fail miserably with things that “seem legit”. Each time you play you have what’s called temporary cheese, which determines when you are shaman, the head mouse whose goal is to help you. Although there can also be two shamans in a certain stage which can become competitive and turn into a shaman fight and other mousey shenanigans. There are also competitive stages where you have the ability to push your fellow mice around, which makes you have to work together or fight to the death. Of course in a mousey world there are trolls, which you can group together and ban someone if it comes down to that. There is also the treat of dressing up your mouse in clothing you can buy with cheese in the shop, which is why you are collection cheese in the first place. Although it’s not much more then collecting cheese, it’s very addictive.

Double Dragon NES

Photobucket

Double dragon was made in 1987 as an arcade game, later ported to the NES, the Sega systems as well as various other home consoles and handhelds. This classic beat ‘em up tests anyone’s skills at video games, as you can see in my game play video I’m not the best at it. Sadly as a kid I did much worse at the game, constantly needing help from my older brother. This is what adds more fun to the game to the game, the two player story mode, or versus mode where two players can fight head to head. It’s also one of few games of its time where two players will appear on screen together in story mode. The game was loads of fun to play back in the late 80’s-90’s and is still a mass enjoyed game loved by people of many age’s. This game has withstood the test of time earning its spot as a classic game.

Pokemon V

Also known as Pokemon /v/. Like its name insinuates this game is being made by many users over at 4chan on the /v/ideo games board. This game is entirely fan made and a Pokemon game. There aren't just 3 starters; in fact early on in the game you answer a few questions with no right answer, these answers choose your starter pokemon that you may choose from.
I for example had gotten squirtle ,charmander, and bulbasaur as my starters. While my friend got others.

This game is still under development, for a year now, but it's creators kindly accept the help of anyone willing to work. Right now there is a very impressive demo out showing off the story, graphics, characters and more. I urge you to check it out!

Billy Hatcher And The Giant Egg

Photobucket

At first glance Billy Hatcher And The Giant Egg looks like a game for kids. Actually many adults play and love this game.

Billy Hatcher is quite the normal kid, he may not be able to do much aside from jumping, but once he get's his chicken suit he becomes rather powerful. With the chicken suit you get to control eggs, which allow you to maneuver the egg in effective ways whether your throwing it or doing a ground pound with it. From these eggs once you feed it enough fruit, you can hatch a creature from it which helps you overcome obstacles and fight off crows.

The plot of the game is the world of chickens called "morning land" has been taken over by evil crows. Billy has been asked by the god of the chickens "menie-funie" to bring the light back to the darkened morning land. To do this on each level you must hatch a golden egg containing each villages elder.

I myself really like this game, there's just something about Billy Hatcher that is just awesome. The game play is really warm and welcoming. Not only is his Chicken suit pretty cool but all of the game is very well designed and very easy on the eyes as far as graphics go. Sadly Billy Hatcher has not received his well deserved sequal. Although the Sonic Team hasn't forgot our young hero just yet because he is a playable character in the upcoming game Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing.

Last but not least here is some game play of the first level of Billy Hatcher And The Giant Egg.
